This year, the Quai du Mont-Blanc will be transformed into a winter wonderland, offering locals and visitors alike a breathtaking setting against the iconic Jet d’Eau and the picturesque lake. It’s the perfect opportunity to capture unforgettable memories, hop aboard one of Geneva’s historic steamships, and savour the festive atmosphere.

The market promises endless discoveries with rotating arts and crafts stalls nestled within charming wooden chalets. Local artisans share their talents and passion, providing an ideal venue to find unique holiday gifts. For food lovers, an array of street food stalls serves up comforting seasonal delights such as raclette, while the Christmas Pub hosts a DJ, creating a lively ambiance for winter aperitifs.

One of this year’s highlights is the cosy fondue chalet, where guests can indulge in a Swiss classic surrounded by festive warmth. In a new twist, visitors can now enjoy a fairy-tale fondue experience on a horse-drawn carriage ride through Geneva’s enchanting Old Town, adding an extra touch of magic.

The Geneva Christmas Market extends its charm to the younger crowd, featuring a classic carousel and a dedicated yurt with an array of children’s activities, including storytelling, crafts, face painting, and more.

Adding to the festive spirit, guided tours through the cobbled streets of Geneva’s Old Town will celebrate the historic Escalade, Geneva’s defining battle for independence. The 46th Course de l’Escalade will bring a lively and competitive spirit to the Old Town on December 7 and 8, 2024. Renowned as Switzerland’s premier running event, this festive race attracts runners of all levels, with elite athletes inspiring young spectators to embrace fitness. This year’s event is dedicated to promoting physical activity, respect, solidarity, and community engagement in Geneva’s winter wonderland.

To end the festivities, Geneva’s New Year’s Eve celebration promises an unforgettable night of live entertainment, vibrant performances, and the shared joy of welcoming the new year. Organized by the City of Geneva, in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office, city departments, and partner organizations, this cherished tradition offers an array of activities, including concerts, shows, interactive entertainment, and informational stands.

This year, the Fête du Réveillon returns to the iconic Quai Gustave-Ador, transforming the area into a lively hub of free festivities. Visitors can enjoy live concerts, DJ performances, dazzling entertainment, bars, food trucks, and a spectacular fireworks display—perfect for ringing in the new year in style. The grand celebration kicks off on December 31 at 8 p.m., offering a stunning view of the Jet d’Eau.

The event will feature two large stages, each showcasing distinct musical vibes and a diverse lineup of artists, along with some exciting new surprises. Attendees can also explore 16 food trucks and three bars, all aligned with an eco-friendly concept designed to minimize waste.
