El Palace Barcelona Revives the Grandeur of The Hall with a New Aperitif Experience

El Palace Barcelona, one of the city’s most iconic hotels, unveils a new chapter in the story of its celebrated Hall, reimagining it as a cultural and social rendezvous at the heart of the Barcelonian calendar. Once the stage for legendary performances, glamorous soirées, and fashion showcases, The Hall now returns to its former splendour with a curated programme of immersive experiences, from evocative art exhibitions to live music and fine gastronomy.

Anchoring this renewed spirit of conviviality is L’Aperitiu, a daily gastronomic offering available from 12pm to 2pm and from 6pm to 8pm. Guests are invited to savour a refined menu that captures both tradition and innovation, featuring delicacies such as Normandy oyster No. 2 with shallot and red grapes, creamy cured beef croquette, knife-cut beef tartare with potato millefeuille, and marinated salmon toast on seaweed bread with pickled vinaigrette. Classics like the hotel’s signature patatas bravas and olives stuffed with anchovy rillette, fennel and orange complete the experience – a modern homage to the art of the aperitif.

Since opening in 1919, El Palace Barcelona has been the city’s emblem of timeless glamour and cultural sophistication. Its historic halls once welcomed the likes of Josephine Baker, who performed in the Parrilla Hall; Montserrat Caballé and Freddie Mercury, who first sang together at the piano of the Cugat Hall; and the great Ella Fitzgerald, Picasso, and Dalí, who all left their mark on the hotel’s history. Today, their legacy lives on in the property’s Art Suites and in a renewed commitment to the arts and hospitality.

With The Hall once again restored as the hotel’s soul, El Palace Barcelona continues to weave past and present into a vibrant narrative of elegance, artistry, and celebration. Through L’Aperitiu and its wider programme of cultural offerings, the hotel reaffirms its role as one of Barcelona’s leading destinations for dining, music, and creative encounters.
